Phở 99 Authentic Vietnamese is a straightforward Vietnamese restaurant tucked along Aurora Avenue N in Shoreline, best known for its solid lineup of pho and other traditional noodle soups. This spot fits well for anyone looking to dig into hearty bowls that highlight classic flavors without much fuss. The menu bends toward variety, catering to both meat-eaters and vegetarians alike — from rice noodle soups with rare or well-done beef and meatballs to vegan-friendly broth options, as well as seafood and teriyaki dishes.

The atmosphere has the vibe of a no-frills neighborhood joint rather than a polished dining room. Seating isn’t plush but functional, and the place can get warm especially on sunny days since ventilation is limited and the windows do not open. This means it’s often better to come earlier in the day or cooler months if you prefer a more comfortable environment. The small parking lot shared with other businesses can be tricky, though there’s an additional lot behind the building that some locals use.

Service here is friendly but can sometimes feel a bit distracted, particularly during busier hours. Water refills and attentiveness might require a gentle nudge, and payment by cash is preferred if you want to avoid extra charges. Receipts may not be routinely offered or printed, reflecting a more casual, small-business setup.

Phở 99 works well for solo diners or casual groups wanting straightforward Vietnamese fare — perfect for a quick lunch or a relaxed dinner when the focus is on the food first. Dishes like the rice noodle soup with rare beef or the tomato crab noodle soup stand out for those wanting to explore beyond the standard pho. The banh xeo crepe and charbroiled pork skewers add some satisfying texture and variety.

Overall, this spot feels like a local pit stop more than a destination restaurant, the kind of place where loyal customers return for consistent flavors and a modest price point. If you have dietary restrictions, you’ll appreciate their range of broth choices. Just be ready for a humble dining experience and keep in mind the logistics around seating, parking, and service pace before you go.

Always delicious pho here, our favorite spot. I don’t eat beef so it’s hard to find places that actually have good non beef broth — this is that place. Highly recommend all the soups we’ve had.

I got a vegan pho. It was delicious. Good place to sit and have a good dinner. They had veggie broth which is great for a vegan like me. A little more flavored/salty broth would be great. They charge $2 more for credit card payments which I can totally agree as a small business owner. I paid cash. They could do better with receipts. No receipt given to me, but even for others it was a notebook receipt given. Just good enough parking available for a place right on 99/Aurora. Suggestion to owner: Play some light music, it will add to your ambience. I recommend this place, overall!

This was a hard spot to rate… The food was palatable, but the service really ruined it. Not to mention, it was over 80° out (late June) & no AC & flies swarming our faces. They did not check on us once, to see if we wanted a refreshment refill (which we wanted). Tried getting several people’s attention, by raising our hands, but they would divert their eyes & go back in the kitchen. They were very unfriendly, the whole time we were there. The food is GREAT, maybe just get some take out & have a better experience!?

Solid choice of authentic Vietnamese food. The crepe is delicious and big portioned. The bun mam noodle soup is very well flavored. The grilled shrimp is excellent. The parking lot is very small. There ia another one downstairs that you can park from the back of the building, then work upstairs to the restaurant.

Limited parking shared with other businesses and lines are barely visible. Gets very warm in latter part of day, should open door for ventilation as the windows are single panels and don't actually open. Service was lacking. An older male placed large pho in the middle of table without offering to give to the person who actually ordered it. Being a warmer day, water wasn't offered to be refilled. Never approached again after serving food. This was with us being the only patrons until the last ~10 min of our meal. Pho was ok, nothing particular. Ordered the everything combo. Egg roll vermicelli and pork skewer/egg roll vermicelli had great portions. Not drowned/propped with veggies like other places. Very good flavor in the pork skewers.

Great food! I always get their beef pho or pork vermicelli, and the lychee water is so refreshing!

I love this place and I wish the Uncle that works here, all the good things. I've been going for years and he's always there working hard. It's worth braving the parking lot and making an u-turn on 99 to get to pho 99 I only have had three things here: the combo broken rice, the pho, and the bun rieu. The first two dishes are very good but the bun rieu is top tier. This place makes my favorite bun rieu in all of Washington State. The broth is rich, the tofu/pork rib/tomato/noodles/crab well cooked, but the true winner are the crab egg pork patties. Delicous and flavorful, it really elevates the dish.
